Atención temprana para el trastorno de espectro autista
2017
Autism spectrum disorders are neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by a constant and often severe deficit of social interaction, language and communication impairment, as well as patterns of behavior and interest which may be restricted, stereotyped or both. The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of Early Intervention treatments used in cases of children with autism spectrum disorder. A literature review was carried out by consulting MedLine, Embase, PsycINFO and Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI). Five systematic reviews and one meta-analysis were included. Behavioral interventions count on a greater volume of literature; however, the evidence found in systematic reviews is insufficient to establish a relationship between the intensity and the duration of the intervention with the degree of improvement of the functions affected. It is necessary to conduct randomized clinical trials to support the use of early intervention.
