With today’s technical progress in simulation, the physical behavior of a system is analyzed using modern computers and software, before its actual fabrication. A car chassis for example is crashed digitally to find weak spots in advance. The same method is applied to the development of energy harvesting (EH) devices. EH devices are highly application-specific, e.g. due to the characteristic frequencies of the vibrations of a certain machine. In order to maximize the power output of an EH system, the optimal parameter combination of components for a given system volume has to be determined. In the case of inductive harvesters this includes the size and number of the used magnets and coils amongst others.
