Effect of sowing density on growth, quality and yield of Sorghum bicolour Sugargraze

Effects of sowing density on growth, quality and yield of Sorghum bicolour Sugargraze was tested in the plain of the West- Liao River in Inner Mongolia in 2004.The results showed that the tillers of plant changed obviously in the early growth stage, the ratio of stalk to leaf (SLR), LAI, photosynthesis pigment content and dry weight per plant show significant difference in the growth stage under different sowing date, and while sowing densities had the great effects on quality and yield as well. General analysis showed that sowing density 200,000 plant/hm~(2 )was better not only for growth but also for crude protein content.
