A novel metalloporphyrin intercalated layered niobate as an electrode modified material for detection of hydrogen peroxide

2013
Abstract Cationic iron (III) tetrakis-5, 10, 15, 20-(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphyrin (Fe III TMPyP) was intercalated into layered semiconductor KNb 3 O 8 for the first time by ion-exchange method. Fe III TMPyP forms an inclined monolayer between Nb 3 O 8 − nanosheets and endues the nanocomposite with a pair of characteristic redox peaks of Fe III TMPyP. The Fe III TMPyP–Nb 3 O 8 − nanocomposite modified glass carbon electrode shows high electrochemical catalysis toward reduction of hydrogen peroxide with a linear range at low concentration and a detection limit of 1.75 μM, the promising utilization of the nanocomposite as a material for biosensor was proposed.
