Exploitation des microzonages sismiques pour leur transcription en PPR sismiques aux Antilles françaises Transcription of microzonations into Seismic Risk Prevention Plans in the French Caribbean islands

2015
On the basis of seismic microzonations conducted in Martinique and Guadeloupe islands between 1994 and 2013, four draft regulatory dossiers of Seismic Risk Prevention Plans (PPRS) were developed for the municipalities of Le Gosier and Baie-Mahault (in Guadeloupe) and Fort-de-France and Le Francois (in Martinique). The draft regulation specifies the measures associated within each area of the cartographic document, focusing on new construction projects. Specific requirements are recommended in areas prone to site effects, in areas exposed to potentially active faults and in areas subjected to liquefaction. The general methodology of transcription seismic microzonation into PPRS consists in several stages: the qualification of the possible impact of each phenomenon on a building, the transcript of this impact into a hazard level (low, medium, high), the cross-checking of hazards, the integration of hazard levels in the regulatory zonation plan, and finally according to the stakes, regulatory requirements for each phenomenon. For example, elastic response spectra adapted to soils but also to design local practices are recommended instead of the EC8 spectra.
