Temporal-spatial relationships between pest insect and predatory insect populations in Pingyangtezao tea garden
2015
In order to utilize natural enemies for the comprehensive control of insect pests in tea plantation, the seasonal and annual variations of population quantities of three insect pests and their natural enemies in Pingyangtezao tea plantation were systematically investigated in the spring-summer season of 2010 and 2011. The grey system analysis and ecological niche analysis were used to systematically analyze the quantity, the temporal as well as the spatial relationships of Empoasca vitis(Gothe), Ricania spesulum(walker) and Brevipalpus obovatus(Donnadieu) with their eight natural enemies. The correlation value, niche overlap index and similarity index of each of eight natural enemies were summed up after standardization. The ranking results based on the sum-up value indicated that, in the 2010 spring-summer season, three dominant natural predators of Empoasca vitis(Gothe) were Oxyopes sertatus, Propylea japonica and Erigonidium graminicolum. For Ricanias pesulum, the main dominant natural enemies were Clubiona japonicola, Erigonidium graminicolum and Propylea japonica. For Brevipalpus obovatus, the main dominant natural enemies were Erigonidium graminicolum,Clubiona japonicola and Propylea japonica. In the autumn-winter season of 2010, three dominant natural predators of Empoasca vitis were Misumenops tricuspidatus, Erigonidium graminicolum and Oxyopes sertatus. The dominant natural enemies of Ricania spesulum were Clubiona japonicola, Oxyopes sertatus and Tetragnatha squamata. For Brevipalpus obovatus, the main natural enemies were Clubiona japonicola, Oxyopes sertatus and Leis axyridis. In the spring-summer season of 2011, three dominant natural predators of Empoasca vitis were Theridion octomaculatum, Theridion octomaculatum and Misumenops tricuspidatus. The dominant natural enemies of Ricania spesulum were Erigonidium graminicolum, Leis axyridis and Propylea japonica. For Brevipalpus obovatus, the main natural enemies were Propylea japonica, Erigonidium graminicolum and Theridion octomaculatum. There were obvious differences in dominant natural enemy species of the three pests at three different investigation periods.
