PRODUCTION WATER/WASTE TREATMENT AND SITE REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGY DATABASE FOR THE NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY

1992
Natural gas industry operations generate various production waters and wastes. These materials are generally regulated and managed in accordance with the specific disposal method used. Depending upon the manner in which production waters/wastes currently are and have been managed, treatment may be required, prior to ultimate discharge or disposal, to comply with applicable regulations. Instances have also occurred in the past where these waters and wastes were not managed in accordance with current required practices. In these instances, what is now considered to be improper management of these releases could have resulted in chemical contamination of surface and subsurface soils and/or ground water. Thus, remediation could be required for the resulting chemical contamination.
