RETRACTED: Preparation of magnetic mesoporous poly-melamine-formaldehyde composite for efficient extraction of chlorophenols

2018
A magnetic mesoporous poly-melamine-formaldehyde composite (M-mPMF) was synthesized by covalent grafting of poly-melamine-formaldehyde onto NH2-Fe3O4 surface. The M-mPMF was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. The result shows that the M-mPMF possesses a high porosity, large surface area and strong magnetism. The extraction performance of the M-mPMF was investigated by using it as the magnetic adsorbent for the extraction of chlorophenols from pond water and honey samples prior to high performance liquid chromatographic analysis. Under the optimal conditions, a good linearity for the analytes existed in the range of 0.1–80.0 ng mL−1 for pond water sample and 5.0–800.0 ng g−1 for honey sample with the correlation coefficients of 0.9945–0.9998. The method recoveries of the four chlorophenols were 89.3–108.4%. The limits of detection for analytes at a signal to noise ratio of 3 were 0.01–0.03 ng mL−1 for pond water sample and 0.1–0.5 ng g−1 for honey sample. The adsorption mechanism of the M-mPMF towards the analytes was investigated by the extraction of different types of organic compounds with the M-mPMF, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorophenols and phthalates. The results indicated that the π-π stacking, hydrogen-bonding and hydrophobic interactions between the M-mPMF and the analytes played an important role for the adsorption.
