Conservatie- en restauratieproblemen van werken op en met papier: bondig onderzoek naar de huidige situatie in museale verzamelingen

1992
An inquiry into the state of preservation of paper was carried out in several Belgian museums that have large collections of works of art on paper. The conservation problems encountered with works on paper, or works that include paper as a structural material, derive from the cellulosic sources used in paper manufacture. Other factors accelerate the paper degradation: exposure to light; unstable relative humidity; intervention by people, e.g., framemakers or museum conservators who contaminate sound papers by placing them in contact with acidic paper. -- AATA
