A novel neoflavonoid glycoside, serratin 7-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-β-D-galoctopyranoside] (1) has been isolated from the CHCl 3 -soluble fraction of the stem of T. purpurea and identified by its chemical and spectral analysis.
