Discrete Time Predictive Current Control of a PMSM Using Actively Clamped Resonant DC Link Inverter

1998
A discrete-time predictive current control method for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) employing an actively clamped resonant DC link (ACRDCL) inverter is proposed to overcome the disadvantage of the current regulated delta modulation (CRDM) control method. From the discrete model of a PM synchronous motor, estimation of back EMF is also described. Based on the space vector modulation method, a predictive current control technique is newly proposed by comparing the vector norms with the available space voltage vectors. Using the proposed control technique, the minimized current ripple with small number of switchings can be obtained. Finally, the comparative computer simulation and experimental results are given to show the usefulness of the proposed technique.
