Una inscripción medieval inédita en la iglesia de San Miguel de Aguayo (Cantabria)

espanolRecientemente se ha descubierto en la iglesia parroquial de San Miguel de Aguayo (Cantabria), durante el transcurso de unos trabajos de reparo de la techumbre del edificio, una inscripcion medieval inedita de la tipologia monumentum fundationis, fechada en el ano 1173, que fue reutilizada como material constructivo durante la edificacion del templo actual en el siglo XVII. En este articulo se aborda la edicion critica del epigrafe atendiendo a sus caracteres formales, genesis, tradicion y conservacion, y su contexto arqueologico e historico, en base a los testimonios materiales y documentales conocidos. Su analisis integral y relacionado, nos permite afirmar que nos encontramos muy probablemente ante la inscripcion fundacional de la antigua iglesia de San Miguel de Aguayo, cuyo emplazamiento anterior se localizaria en el sitio donde actualmente se conservan algunos restos arquitectonicos de la ermita de San Cristobal, para levantarse unos siglos despues en su ubicacion actual. EnglishRecently, during the restoration to the building’s roof, a previously unknown medieval inscription of the monumentum fundationis type was discovered in the parish church of San Miguel de Aguayo (Cantabria). Dated to 1173, the element it is on was reused as building material during the construction of the current seventeenth-century temple. This article examines this epigraph by way of a critical edition, taking into account its formal characteristics, genesis, tradition and conservation, and its archaeological and historical context, based on known materials and documentary evidence. An integral and holistic analysis allows us in all likelihood to affirm that this is the foundational inscription of the old church of San Miguel de Aguayo, whose previous location may be located where certain architectural ruins of the hermitage of San Cristobal are currently preserved, and a few centuries later was rebuilt in its current location.
