Levobunolol: A New Beta-Adrenoceptor Antagonist for the Treatment of Glaucoma

Levobunolol is a new non-cardioselective beta-adrenoceptor antagonist. Such agents are rapidly gaining acceptance in the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). Levobunolol has been shown to have a long duration of action, and is well absorbed after both systemic and ocular administration, and has been reported effective for the treatment of systemic hypertension.
