The invention discloses a dual lightning protection and explosion-proof composite post type insulator. The composite post type insulator comprises an umbrella skirt jacket, a wiring end metal fitting installed at the upper end of the umbrella shirt jacket and a grounding end metal fitting installed at the lower end of the umbrella shirt jacket. The inner cavity of the umbrella skirt jacket is enabled to form an enclosed cavity, a hollow insulation cylinder is embedded in the inner cavity of the umbrella skirt jacket, the lower portion in the insulation cylinder is provided with a spring, the upper side of the spring is provided with a resistance sheet, the upper side of the resistance sheet is provided with a hollow magnet ring, the two ends of the magnet ring are provided with truncated cone-shaped copper sheets, an inner electrode is additionally arranged between the magnet ring and the resistance sheet, and the inner electrode is connected with and communicates with an arcing ring arranged outside the umbrella skirt jacket. According to the invention, the lightning protection performance is effectively improved, the lightning protection insulator is prevented from damage caused by metal fitting breaking or epoxy cylinder destroying, and in case of the damage, discovery and replacement are easy.
