Étude de l'activité antioxydante et de l'action anti corrosion de l'extrait méthanolique des feuilles du palmier nain (Chamaerops humilis L.) du Maroc Study of antioxidant activity and anticorrosion action of the methanol extract of dwarf palm leaves (Chamaerops humilis L.) from Morocco

2014
This work is inscribed in the frame of valorization of the methanol extracts of dwarf palm leaves (Chamaerops humilis L.) of Benslimane region as an antioxidant and corrosion inhibitor. The method used to measure the antioxidant activity was the free radical scavenging by using DPPH•, while for anti corrosion action we used the techniques of the evolution of the free potential and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to study the metal / solutions behavior in the absence and presence of the extract. The phytochemical screening of the extract revealed the presence of Polyphenols, Catechol and Gallic Tannins, Flavonoids, Saponins, Terpenoids, Anthracenosides and Cardiac glycosides. The results obtained showed that the extract demonstrate a significant antioxidant activity. For the latter, the inhibition obtained was 81%. Concerning the corrosion of steel, tests highlighted an inhibition efficiency of 45% in the presence of chloride ions at 0.5 g / L of the extract.
