A development of a portable device for skin color estimation on cosmetic foundation applying

In this paper, we examine the feasibility of using skin reflection model to build a spectrum based device for skin color estimation on cosmetic foundation applying. To investigate the proposed portable device, first, we utilize a conventional spectrometer X-rite i1pro for skin reflection model evaluation. Secondly, we compare the performance of our adapted nanoλ spectrometer on-a-chip to the X-rite i1pro and verify that low-cost spectrometer on-a-chip is capable of being used in the replacement of conventional spectrometers. From these two perspectives, it is convincing to develop the proposed portable device for skin color estimation on cosmetic foundation applying in the future.
