The objective of this study was to estimate growth of carrot by using expolinear functional equation in a closed-type plant factory system. Hydroponic system was was a nutrient film technique system with three-layer in a closed-type plant factory. Light source, light intensity, and photoperiod were fluorescent lamps and 140 μmol·m-2·s-1, and 12-h/12-h (day/night), respectively. Plant height was showed as an sigmoid curve, however, stem diameter was showed as an linear curve. Leaf area and shoot dry weights per plant were showed as an expolinear equation. A linear relationship between shoot dry and fresh weights was observed to be linear. The expolinear growth model can be useful models for quantifying the growth characteristics of carrot in a closed-type plant production system.
