Penatalaksanaan Fisioterapi pada Kasus Carpal Tunnel Syndrome di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Prof. Dr. Soerodjo Magelang

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a narrowing of the carpal tunnel, which occurs due to fascia edema or formation abnormalities in the small bones of the hands that cause suppression of the median nerve in the wrist. Purpose: To find out whether US, TENS and nerve mobilization can reduce pain, increase muscle strength and increase range of motion in the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome case. Results: After 6 times of therapy, the assessment in silent pain is T1: 0/10 cm to T6: 0/10 cm, tenderness T1: 4,7/10 cm to T6: 0/10 cm, motion pain T1: 3,5/10 cm to T6: 0/10 cm, there is increasing of muscle strength from T1: 3+ to T6: 4 for flexor wrist, T1: 3+ to T6: 4 for extensor wrist and there is also increasing range of motion wrist from T1: S 200-0-400 to T6: S 400-0-600. Conclusion: The use of physiotherapy modalities with US, TENS and Nerve Mobilization is able to reduce pain, increase muscle strength and increase range of motion in the case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
