PENGARUH PENEKANAN PELLET SILIKA TERHADAP POROSITAS DANPERMEABILITAS
2019
The silica classification (SiO2) is divided into four basic characteristics of
silica which are crystal structure, dispersity, surface composition and porosity.
Silica sand is widely used by the oil and gas industry as proppant or as water
filters. The proppant choice depends on the type of permeability or grain strength
required. Moreover, proppant with a larger size will provide better fracture
permeability, because the permeability value will increase along with the
increasing of grain diameter. This study aims to determine the effect of silica
pellet pressing towards porosity and permeability. This silica pellet pressing uses
a hydraulic press machine KW05-135 and with 10,000 kg capacity. Researcher
conducts silica pellets with the same grain size of silica sand content (100 mesh)
as much as 8.74 g / cm3, using an adhesive type of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
400 as much as 0.57 g / cm3, and Aluminum Powder 3.42 g / cm3. The mold used
is Silica Pellet Type Alloy 410 with an inner diameter 27 mm, an outer diameter
57 mm and the height of mold hole 89 mm with the pressure of 1000 Kg, 3000
Kg and 5000 Kg, and provides a sintering temperature 1200 ° C. The optimum
porosity value obtained is 39.25% and the optimum permeability value gained is
57 mD.
