Graduate Students’ Perceived Preparation for Working with Client Spirituality and Religious Values

This article highlights the results of survey research regarding graduate counseling students’ perceptions of their preparation in dealing with client issues of spirituality and diverse religious values. Results revealed that students coming from programs that infused these concepts in the curriculum and provided opportunities for experiential education within this context felt more prepared than those who came from programs that did not. Implications for counselor educators are given.
