1984
Abstract Pentacarbonyl(diphenylcarbene)tungsten reacts with organyl cyanates, ROCN (R = Ph, Et, Pr i ), or alkyl thiocyanates, R′SCN (R′ = Me, Et, Pr i ), respectively, inserting the CN group into the tungsten—carbene bond to give pentacarbonyl[diphenylmethyleneamino(organyloxy)carbene]tungsten or pentacarbonyl[alkylthio(diphenylmethyleneamino)carbene]tungsten complexes, respectively. Apart from these insertion products, other complexes are obtained which correspond to formal substitution of the carbene ligand by ROCN or R′SCN. The new carbene complexes are characterized analytically and spectroscopically and pentacarbonyl[diphenylmethyleneamino(ethylthio)carbene]tungsten also by X-ray analysis.
