ÉTUDE PROSPECTIVE et RANDOMISÉE pour le REPÉRAGE des VEINES PERFORANTES par un QUADRILLAGE PROSPECTIVE RANDOMISED STUDY of the IDENTIFICATION of PERFORATING VEINS by MEANS of a GRID

2008
SUMMARY Context : Eponymous naming of perforators has been abandonned and replaced by an anatomical nomenclature which standardises medical language. However, it is little used in everyday practice. By means of a grid system consisting of 28 zones, identification based on the anatomical nomenclature is simplified. This method and its inter-operator reproducibility needed to be evaluated. The theoretical problem posed by junctional localisation, frontier zone between two zones, also required evaluation. Objective : The validation of inter-operator reproducibility of a grid for the identification of perforating veins by comparison of the results obtained by two groups of doctors (an informed group versus an uninformed group). Material and methodology : A randomised, prospective, monocentric study (carried out at the « Congres de Pathologie Vasculaire »
