The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Fellowship: A note

1997
Abstract The formation of first the Patent and Trademark Depository Library Program, and later the Fellowship program are logical steps used to fulfill the dissemination mission of the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). The Fellowship program is designed to provide patent and trademark depository librarians and staff with first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of the PTO. Fellowship selection, job orientation, and a “fellow's-eye” view of the annual Patent and Trademark Office training conferences, site visits to libraries, and participation in patent and trademark information seminars are discussed. Also explained are the kinds of personal and professional enrichment available to fellows while they participate in the program and the accomplishments of past fellows.
