Design of Serial Communication Monitor System of Excavator Based on LabVIEW

The on-line monitoring of excavator parameters provide much guidance on analyzing the status of the excavator and debugging control function of the new prototype. On the Basis of analyzing the constitution of the excavator control system as well as the way how the parameters transfer, the parameters transferred between GPS and controller MCU was set as the collection objectives to design the monitor system of excavator with LabVIEW. The monitor system has been made field test on excavators. The result indicated that the system can correctly analyze communication data packet and obtain all the parameters during communication, which can provide a new method for the real-time analysis of the excavator’s status.
