The Role of Mannose-binding Lectin and C-reactive Protein Detection in Infected Children with Mycoplasma Pneumonia

2009
To investigate mannose-binding lectin(MBL)and CRP levels in children with Mycoplasma pneumonia(MP).The serum MBL and CRP levels were measured by nephelometry and ELISA. The results showed that MBL levels(3.64±1.72mg/L)and CRP(21.44±15.02mg/L)in 57 infected children with MP were significantly higher than that of control group﹙P 0.001﹚.The MBL levels in children(≤8 years) were significantly lower than that in children(8 years). There was significant difference in MBL levels between 8 recurrent respiratory tract children and other infected children with MP(2.02±1.21mg/L vs 3.95±1.63mg/L,P 0.01﹚. The CRP levels in infected children had declined in recovery phase . It suggested that the levels of MBL and CRP may be the monitoring indicator showing innate immune function in infected children with MP and it may be favourable to estimate curative effect by dynamicly detection.
