Satellite replacements for geostationary satellite systems with millimeter example

The late W. T. Brandon observed that selected Molniya orbits could allow simple low cost ground antennas. We choose select Molniya eccentricity to allow three kinds of Brandon antennas. These high gain ground antennas would allow Molniya systems to be directly competitive with geostationary systems in the Northern Temperate Zone. They would relieve congestion in the GEO band, and allow much higher frequencies. We show an 85 GHz example. (10 pages)
