A SIMULATION FRAMEWORK TO ASSESS OBSERVER COVERAGE FOR VALUABLE FISHES IN JAPANESE OBSERVER DATA

SUMMARY In the SC-ECO meeting last year, the Sub-Committee recommended the collection of catch data and catch composition. Following the recommendations, we provide the catch data from the scientific observers on-board Japanese pelagic longline vessels during 1997-2009 in the ICCAT Convention area. We also provide the result of a simulation using the above data in order to discuss appropriate observer coverage in the ICCAT Convention area. RESUME
