From family planning to reproductive health. What does it mean

1996
: Reproductive health is a premise for physical and psychosocial comfort, emotional closeness, and personal and social maturation, while poor reproductive health is frequently associated with disease, abuse, exploitation, unwanted pregnancy, and death. Reproductive health must be understood in the context of human relationships, including the fulfillment of individual potential, the minimization of risks, and ensuring the opportunity to have a desired child or to avoid unwanted or unsafe pregnancy. Social and physical factors interrelate to contribute to or erode reproductive health. The author explains that the family, in whatever form it takes, is a key contributor to providing developmental and reproductive health care. Changes in family structure and stability must be considered when planning reproductive health programs.
