Power Saving Analysis of Peak to Average Power Ratio Reduction Technique in OFDM System using Hybrid Improved Partial Transmit Sequence dan Clipping Filtering Technique

2018
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a rapid data transmission technique in wireless communication system. OFDM techniques can overcome multipath fading effect and Intersymbol Interference (ISI) phenomenon. However, the main problem in OFDM is high value of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in transmission signal that causes inefficient power amplifiers, so it takes more power consumption. The PAPR reduction technique in this paper is hybrid Improved PTS–CF. Certain parameters of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) are used to calculate the net power saving for both PAPR reduction techniques. Simulation results show the performance of hybrid technique Improved PTS–CF gives better result compared with non hybrid Improved PTS or CF technique. Hybrid Improved PTS - CF technique can reduce PAPR up to 8.81 dB and has the net power savings value of 7.295 W.
