Test of a recuperative pulse tube refrigerator with simplified perforated plate heat exchanger

2000
This paper discusses a new pulse tube refrigeration system that can be applied to gas-liquefaction, in which the regenerator is replaced with a recuperative heat exchanger. The rotary valve and the pulse tube work as a gas expander. Experimental apparatuses are set up to investigate the performance of the whole system. Using helium as the working substance, the pulse tube refrigerator reaches 163K at the cold end and achieves 1.0W/K as cooling power per unit temperature increases.
