Micro-hydraulic burnishing tools for integrated machining on CNC milling center

2018
Trends in contemporary industrial design require smooth and shiny surfaces providing high reflexivity. Forming surfaces of injection molds, dies and stampers are milled and polished. Most often, polishing of molds cavities takes place using the strength of human hands, and the effect depends on the skill and experience of the employee. An alternative to manual machining can be burnishing complex spatial surfaces. However, a necessary condition in this situation is to have a tool that allows integration of the milling process with finishing surface for the burnishing on a CNC machine for metal cutting. This modern solution of the burnishing tool based on micro-hydraulic components and the benefits of using the burnishing technology on multi-axis CNC machines are present in this paper.
