Fluidized-bed reactor and in situ hydrogen peroxide-enhanced bioremediation
1995
Both in situ and ex situ bioremediation technologies can be favorable alternatives for the cleanup of hydrocarbon-contaminated sites. This case study presents 12 months of operating data on a bioremediation system consisting of groundwater recovery with nutrient and hydrogen peroxide (H{sub 2}O{sub 2}) reinjection designed to stimulate biodegradation of contaminated soils and groundwater. A granular activated carbon fluidized-bed reactor was used to treat extracted groundwater prior to reinjection.
