Purpose Implementation of electronic health records (EHRs) includes clinical decision support (CDS) to help improve patient care and outcomes. Medication alerts are a form of CDS including dose, allergy, and drug-drug interaction alerts. While medication alerts are designed to improve care, alert fatigue and ineffectiveness are commonly reported by providers. To help build confidence in the system, we believe that a barrier to CDS is lack of confidence.
