Application of EPON Technology in Power Fonsumption Information Collection System

Based on the demand of power consumption information collection system and the characteristic of EPON technology,this paper describes the application of EPON in power consumption information collection system.As a pointto-multipoint optical communication technology,EPON is quite suitable for constructing a long-distance communication network.With the development of FTTH,EPON can also be used in local communication network to replace low-voltage power line carrier communication.It will realize the target of "all cover,all collection" in power consumption system,and provide value-added service of power system in the future.
