A Study of Optical Collimators.

Abstract : The operating principles of optical collimators are reviewed with special attention to the effect of filtering pinhole diameter, laser beamwidth and lens focal length on performance. Three collimators were examined; a Jodon 50 millimeter beam expanding telescope; a Trople 280-50 and a DREO design. Their ability to collimate a Spectra Physics Model 135 He-Ne laser beam was assessed. (Author)
