RIESGO DE INFECCION POR EL VIRUS DE LA HEPATITIS B EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE MEDICINA DE LA CIUDAD DE CARTAGENA COLOMBIA

Introduction: Hepatitis B is a highly infectious viral disease preventable by vaccination, however, the non-application of this is reflected in most of the student population. Objective: To identify risk factors for contracting hepatitis B who are exposed to medical students in the city of Cartagena. Materials and Methods: A survey on students randomly selected from V to X semester Rafael Nunez University and the University of Cartagena. Results: Of the students surveyed, 66.6% belongs to the department of Bolivar. Of the total, 85% reported being vaccinated, of these, 38% had the entire scheme. 64.8% has been in direct contact with body fluids, and 11.6% had a biological accident, of which only 20% reported the case resulting in rotations of obstetrics and surgery so you must take extreme security measures to prevent such incidents. Conclusion: We observed that the data obtained in this study do not differ from those reported in the literature.
