This study examines trends in parent-child coaching research and analyzes trends by year, subjects, number of subjects, research topics, research methods, and dissertation and journal trends. The purpose of this study is to use these trends as basic data to establish research directions such as specific research methods and themes for parent-child coaching research in the future. For this purpose, 129 papers related to parent-child coaching published from 2005 to 2019 were analyzed with the subjects of academic journals and dissertations published in South Korea. The results of this study are as follows. First, the number of related papers has been steadily increasing since 2009. The number of theses (22) was the highest in 2016. Second, the most common subjects were 60 (46.5%) mothers who were only selected. In the number of study subjects, parents were the highest with 84 in less than 50. Third, most of the coaching studies were conducted to verify the effect through experiments, and 111 out of 129 were found. Fourth, coaching, parenting efficacy, and communication were the highest in the research topic tendency with 36 pieces (28.0%). Fifth, in the case of the research method, quantitative research was the most common with 76 (58.9%). Sixth, 23 programs (17.8%) were developed. Seventh, in the case of the theses, there were 65 master's theses and 14 doctoral dissertations. In the case of journals, ‘coaching research’ was the most common with 9. Based on the above results, the study proposed future research directions for research topics, research subjects, and diversification of research methods.
