Transvesical LESS Applications

2017
Pneumovesical transluminal surgery, described with multiple trocars through the abdominal wall and the wall of the bladder, has not escaped the trend of using multiple trocars through one incision. The use of one multiport trocar with a single-site incision for transluminal surgery was described in 2008, with the subsequent description of different procedures for benign pathology with standard or articulated laparoscopic forceps through one single incision. It has even been described for the management of malignant pathology, such as radical prostatectomy with a transvesical single-site incision with robotic assistance. In this chapter we will review the various procedures through a single-site incision made so far, with an emphasis on the technique of the bladder cuff for nephroureterectomy and simple prostatic adenomectomy.
