Treatment of type IMirizzi syndrome by laparoscopy

Objective To investigate the effect and method of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) for type Ⅰ Mirizzi syndrome.Methods From June 2000 to June 2010,28 cases of type Ⅰ Mirizzi syndrome according to Csendes' type were treated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy,and the clinical data were retrospectively summarized.Results In these patients,16 eases were peformed with LC successfully,with 12 cases of part cholecystectomy.Bile duct injury were happened intraoperatively in 2 cases,with 1 ease was repaired under laparoscopy and one case was repaired by open surgery.Two cases suffered from bile leakage,gained recovery after expectant treatment.The follow-up time was 6 months to 10 years,recovery was good.Conclusions LC for type Ⅰ Mirizzi syndrome is safe and feasible.
