Vehicle controller with recovery retarder

PURPOSE:To carry out high ground driving at a torque equivalent to one at flatland driving without degrading smoke density by changing assist torque which is generated by a recovery retarder according to a height where a vehicle is positioned. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection pump 2 with a high ground injection compensation is placed on a vehicle. Besides, it is provided with a recovery retarder R which operated as a generator at the time of decelerating, and is operated as a motor at the time starting or accelerating. Power is fed to the armature coil 4 of the recovery retarder R from a high pressure capacitor 13 and an inverter 12. Besides, to the field coil 5 of the recovery retarder R from a battery 16, power is fed from a field control part 14. In addition, the inverter 12, the field control part 14 and so on are controlled by the controller 18 respectively based on the respective detected signals from the engine speed sensor 20, accelerator sensor 21, atmospheric pressure sensor 22, and so on. Namely, the assist torque of the recovery retarder R is changed according to the atmospheric pressure, that is, the height.
