Provided is a vehicle overhead air conditioner including a casing, and an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, and corresponding connecting pipelines arranged in the casing, a condensing air inlet and a condensing air outlet are arranged on the casing, an evaporation blower fan for accelerating indoor counter flow is close to the evaporator, a condensation blower fan for accelerating outdoor counter flow is close to the condenser, the air conditioner provided is characterized in that the condenser is U-shaped and is horizontally arranged, and the evaporator is also U-shaped and is horizontally arranged, and the compressor is a horizontal compressor and is arranged in the condenser. Compared with the prior art, the air conditioner provided is advantageous in greatly reducing the whole height and being suitable for the overhead design of vehicles or yachts because of the adoptions of the U-shaped condenser and the U-shaped evaporator as well as the combination with the horizontal compressor.
