Integrity on properties of Cu-based composites with the addition of reinforcement: A review

Abstract In this twenty first century, Copper has been widely utilized in aerospace, biomedical and automobile application rapidly due to its significant implementable benefits. Copper based composites have demonstrated significant beneficial characteristics, which actually includes mechanical, corrosion and wear resistance and higher strength. The present paper addresses a detailed overview of the investigations report which were carried out from the last decade. Also, discussed the various types of reinforcements used till the date, a detailed address on reinforcements including mechanical & physiochemical behaviour of the copper based composite materials. It was noticed that the wear resistance of the copper composite have been enhanced with addition of reinforcement including Gr, MoS2 etc. The Copper composites can be replaced with pure Copper to improve the usage of copper in various applications.
