DESIGN and EVALUATION of a 5GHz HBT STROBED COMPARATOR

A strobed comparator-latch designed for reproducible manufacturing has been fabricated in a developmental GaAs HBT process. Circuit functional yield of 64% has been achieved, measured DC performance agrees within 5% of design goals, and operation with a 5 GHz strobe frequency has been demonstrated.
