The health advertising discourse: setting up a corpus. Health ind ustry is a field in which the discourse of advertising makes sense in the historical and social framework of economic, political, cultural and social characteristics of capitalism development and modernization of society and mass communication. The paper presents the progress in the selection process of the corpus for a doctoral dissertation about the configuration of health systems knowledge in the discourse of printed advertising between 1928 and 1949. The political, medical, advertise and media aspects that lead the choice of dates for the analysis will be explained, as well as media and ad choice. It also gives a brief description about 1329 posted ads corpus published in Medicina journal, Revista Mexicana and Excelsior newspaper.
