Ultrasonography in medical practice

The authors discussed the basic features of ultrasounds and ultrasound scanners. They discussed the types of transducers and their diagnostic application. They pointed out that the Guide-lines of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) already in 2010 allowed the use of echocardiography in the proposed ALS algorithm during cardiac arrest.
