Titanosilicate derivative of the NU-1 framework zeolites (TS-NU-1)

1997
We report a first example showing the synthesis efficiency of NU-1 zeolites in terms of Ti 4+ framework incorporation in the presence of a structure-directing TMAOH medium. Titanium (Ti 4+ )-containing NU-1 framework zeolites have been synthesized from the system with and without using seeds. The use of small amounts of H 3 PO 4 to generate oxyanions PO 4 3− in hydrogel has been found to show a favorable influence on the rate of TS-NU-1 crystal growth. A combination of diffuse reflectance (u.v.-vis) and framework i.r. spectroscopies have been used to confirm the presence of Ti 4+ in TS-NU-1 series. However, adsorption data indicate small-pore behavior for the TS-NU-1 series. As-synthesized TS-NU-1 maintains structural integrity until about 923 K and was found to undergo phase transformation between 950 and 973 K.
