AN ASSESSMENT OF PRE-PROGRAMMED URBAN RAIL OPERATION AS AN IVHS STRATEGY

1993
This paper studies the concept of preprogrammed urban rail operation as an Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems (IVHS) strategy. In this paper, the authors present a simulation model REGIME that can assess the consequences of the various operating scenarios measured in terms of travel time, energy consumption and passenger comfort. Also, the application of a ranking methodology termed Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize these scenarios is demonstrated in this paper.
