Three-dimensional optical interconnection networks for parallel and distributed computing
1997
The authors present a three-dimensional optical interconnection networks design methodology for parallel and distributed computing. This design can be implemented using any type of optical two-dimensional switches. These switches are themselves designed using optical devices such as the Fabry-Perot resonators and the interference filters. The design exploits the volume connectivity feature offered by optical devices. Performance analysis in terms of volume hardware and possible delay is presented.
