The long term dynamics of bark beetle's insect epidemics and the process of Russian spruce forests' drying are retraced, owing to the analysis of literary material and the information, collected by the authors themselves. The role of factors, determining the development of nidi is defined more precisely; the peculiarities of the latest bark beetle epidemics are examined as well.
