Determination of zinc in the presence of copper, cadmium and lead by photometric EDTA titration with selective masking

1987
Zinc solutions (0.01 M) were analysed in the presence of copper, cadmium and lead by a photometric EDTA titration using selective masking. Accurate results were obtained for binary mixtures with coefficients of variation around 0.1%. For zinc-lead mixtures both elements could be determined from one titration using cyanide as a masking agent. The analysis of a simple brass gave an excellent result for the determination of copper and reasonable results for lead and zinc determinations.
